Welcome to my blog space!

As a fan of literary critique, I enjoy analyzing a wide array of topics or pieces. When it comes to the blog posts sampled below, I wanted to focus on the horror genre. Besides being an avid horror fan, I feel it is the most provocative type of media to consume and dissect.

Two of these blog posts are copied over from my personal website, Elsey's Word Salad. One discusses one of my favorite books, and the other breaks down a classic horror film from pop culture. My other post was created here for more insight about my love for horror, which has been copied over to Elsey's Word Salad as well.

If you are curious to check out my other post talking about miscellaneous topics or genres, feel free to check out on my personal website, linked here.

Importance of Horror Media

While the movie is listed as a comedy/sci-fi film, I'd argue it is more of a darkly comedic thriller. Today, I will talk about the plot points, characters, and moral of the story to better shed light on what makes this film so terrifying for myself and other viewers.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things Book

I'm writing this book review at midnight on a random Thursday, as I'm struck with a particular streak of creativity that needs an outlet. Some of you might be more familiar with I'm Thinking of Ending Things from Netflix, although the story originated from the 2016 novel by Iain Reid. There was even a trend on TikTok for a brief amount of time where people would get "under the influence" and watch the movie, as the experience was more surreal. While I am not familiar with the movie adaptation, the book has made it evident I should be adding the movie version to my list of films to watch.
